Ge Dahong is convicted to life imprisonment because of involuntary homicide. Su Mei, his ex-wife, asks the Xings to bring up their two-year-old son, and then marries Lin Zuosheng, concealing the fact that she is pregnant at that time. Time flies. Xing Fei, Ge's eldest son who is sent to the Xings becomes a policeman. And Lin Yinan, their youngest son, also returns home from abroad. When Ge Dahong is released from the prison, Xing Fei accepts him. However, for the sake of Xing Fei's future, Su Mei begs Ge Dahong to leave.
